Well, a U-joint is designed to not only allow the driveshaft to move in it's arc without binding, but it is also the weak link. Most likely your Jeep came factory with a 1310 or 1330 U-joint in your driveshaft. Right away, most folks listen to that little voice saying 'Bigger is always better'.

Feb 09, 2014 · If you have a 1330- series rear driveshaft, your rear DS u-joints are Spicer #5-1204X; on 1310- series rear DS it's the same Spicer #5-153x as the front DS. edit: I have used other high quality U-joint brands than Spicer on driveshafts without issues. IMO it's not a 100% must to get Spicer brand, as long as you don't get the cheapest ones.
